Compilation of Reports, Graphs, Guidelines, and Charts.

Multiple Bar Graph

multiple bar graph shows the relationship between different values of data. Each data value is represented by a column in the chart. In a multiple bar graph, multiple data points for each data category are shown with the addition of columns. In a multiple bars diagram, two or more sets of interrelated data are represented (multiple bar diagram facilitates comparison between more than one phenomenon). The technique of making a simple bar chart is used to draw this diagram but the difference is that we use different shades, colors, or dots to distinguish between various phenomena. In the diagram presented above, scores in science and mathematics are compared indicating that the student’s abilities vary from one subject to another.

Decision Flowchart

A flowchart is a graphical representation of a process. It's a diagram that illustrates the workflow required to complete a task or a set of tasks with the help of symbols, lines, and shapes. Flowcharts are used to study, improve, and communicate processes in various fields. In the above example, the decision flowchart presents the steps a buyer may take before buying online.

School Campus Guidelines

A guideline is a statement by which to determine a course of action. A guideline aims to streamline particular processes according to a set routine or sound practice. Guidelines may be issued by and used by any organization (governmental or private) to make the actions of its employees or divisions more predictable, and presumably of higher quality. A guideline is similar to a rule. The guidelines presented above are applicable during Valentine's Day when students express their feelings towards their persons of interest within the school in a way that may disrupt the school's classes. The guidelines are also geared towards molding the behavior of the students for them to behave appropriately within the campus.

Double Line Graph

An individual data point is connected by a line in a line graph, sometimes referred to as a line plot or a line chart. A line graph shows numerical values over a predetermined period.

The example shown above presents the number of students of 2nd-year English major students from January, August, and December in the years 2021 and 2022. In 2021, the year started with 60 students, however, in August, which is the month of enrollment, only 50 students enrolled for the next school year, these 50 students are now 3rd-year students. At the end of the year, during December, 40 students were left indicating that 10 students discontinued pursuing the course during the 2nd semester of the school year.

In 2022, they were 40 students in January. The number of students did not decline during August, suggesting that these 40 students continued the course, they were now 4th-year students. However, in December, 10 students were deducted from the total number because of varying reasons. Only 30 students left are qualified for graduation.

Incident Report

On June 12, 2023, at 3:30 in the afternoon. A student at the Assumption College of Nabunturan was walking on Arabejo Street when a student wearing an ID from Nabunturan Comprehensive High School punched him in the abdomen. The ACN student kneeled in pain and failed to recognize the perpetrator, but the witness said that the student was from NCHS given that his ID sling bear the school's name. The reason behind the assault is still unknown, however, the victim is confident that he had not had any conflict with any students from the neighboring school.

The Nabunturan Philippine National Police, Nabunturan Comprehensive High Schools, and Assumption College of Nabunturan have joined an effort to trace the perpetrator. The investigation is ongoing.

Trip Report

On June 24, 2023, I and 4 other teachers at Assumption College of Nabunturan were sent to San Pedro College of Davao to observe the effects of implementing the English-Only Policy within SPC’s campus. We arrive in Davao at 7 on the evening of June 24, 2023. We planned to visit the school to observe how the students, teachers, staff, and other personnel perform under English-Only Policy.

The objective of the visit was to get to know the process in detail in terms of the English-Only Policy, to get exposure to the actual implementation of the policy, and to see firsthand how it is done.

We were guided by SPC’s Dean of College on a tour of the campus for us to familiarize ourselves with the routes. We had planned to wear something student-like for full immersion with the students and to prevent special treatment that may affect our visit’s objective.

Interacting with English students was an insightful experience. For students to speak English confidently and well even outside the school, the following must be observed:

  • Every part of the school must be a safe space for students, teachers, staff, and personnel so they do not feel discriminated against, judged, and incompetent because of their grammatical errors, mispronunciation, and other linguistic anomalies.
  • Students, teachers, staff, and personnel must understand the diversity of proficiency of the students in terms of using a certain language, particularly English.
  • Furthermore, the people involved must acknowledge and respect their social and cultural backgrounds and upbringings, which highly influence their speaking skills.

The English-only policy in San Pedro College was effective because the people involved shared a common goal: improving their communication skills.

The trip served its purpose to the teachers, they were enlightened and gained ideas on how to better implement a language policy. However, it would be proper and fitting if students of Assumption College of Nabunturan were sent to SPC along with the teachers as well. Truly, teachers partake a significant role in a language education policy, but students also play a consistent significance.

                Progress report

The school library of Manat National High School had been in bad shape since Typhoon Pablo struck Mindanao on December 5, 2012. Because of its poor conditions, students were not interested in effectively using the school library. With this, we, English Teachers put on an effort to restore the library and encourage students to spend their leisure time on reading. The restoration took five days, from June 24, 2022, until June 28, 2022. A team of ten English teachers was involved.

June 24, 2022. All the books inside the library were transferred to an empty room. The old, damaged, and outdated books were sorted out and placed aside to be disposed of properly. The 5 old bookshelves were repaired, and 5 new ones were made. The vinyl flooring tiles were torn apart.

June 25, 2022. The repaired and new bookshelves were painted and placed in the gymnasium for the time being while the library was still being restored. The sorting of the books went on as there were more than 2000 books. The floor was polished, the old wallpaper was scraped and the wall was prepared for repainting.

June 26, 2022. After the walls were cleaned, it was discovered that one-third of the ceiling had started to rot, which required immediate repair. Two carpenters were hired and got the job done at the end of the day. The five male teachers crafted 5 reading tables.

June 27, 2022. The ceiling, walls, and reading tables were painted. The broken Jalousie windows were repaired, and the missing glasses were replaced. The bookshelves were brought inside the library. The reading tables, bookshelves, and other furniture were arranged. Decorations were added to make the once unattractive room into a room of learning and enjoyment. Most importantly, we started to put the books on the shelves. A systematized arrangement was followed for the convenient locating of the books; thus, the arrangement took much time.

June 28. 2022. The systematized arrangement continued, at 5 in the afternoon. The last book was labeled and placed on its bookshelf signaling the accomplishment of the restoration.

On June 29, 2022, the library was open for students and teachers.

Enhancing Attendance Procedures During School Events and Activities in the Assumption College of Nabunturan: Recommendation Report

Introduction:

During school activities, attendance procedures are vital for monitoring student participation and maintaining accurate records. This recommendation report aims to address the challenges of the attendance procedures in A.Y. 2022–2023 during school events and activities at the Assumption College of Nabunturan, wherein these appear to necessitate strategizing enhanced attendance procedures. The purpose of this report is to propose strategies for enhancing attendance procedures and provide practical recommendations that will streamline the attendance process, promote accurate record management, and enhance effective communication between the staff members who are responsible for tracking attendance and the students to foster convenience for both parties.

Scope and Methodology:

The evaluation of the challenges together with the recommendations made in this report are centered on the attendance procedures in A.Y. 2022–2023. Data collection was based on interviews with the students about their observations of the attendance procedures during events and activities in the school.

Evaluation of Challenges:

a. Inefficient Manual Processes:

Using paper-based attendance sheets or spreadsheets for attendance tracking poses data management challenges in terms of the accuracy and reliability of the data.

b. Inconsistent Attendance Procedures:

The lack of systematized and consistently implemented attendance regulations and processes challenges tracking student participation effectively.

c. Communication Gaps:

The attendance policy and procedures are not clearly communicated, leading to confusion among students.

Recommendations:

a. Implement a Digital Attendance Management System:

• Introduce a comprehensive digital attendance management system that automates attendance tracking and gives authorized staff members access to real-time data recording.

• To accommodate varying school activity settings and student demographics, the system should provide a variety of attendance methods, such as barcode scanning, which was inconsistently used in previous school events and activities last academic year, and other methods such as biometrics or mobile applications.

a.1. Provide Training and Support:

• Prepare training sessions for staff members who are responsible for attendance tracking to acquaint them with standardized attendance practices and the digital attendance management system.

• Provide technical assistance and system-related resources to cope with any difficulties or queries that may arise throughout the switch to the new system.

b. Standardize Attendance Policies and Procedures:

• Develop and explain standardized attendance standards that cover all school events and activities, clearly stating processes and sanctions.

• Provide clear and consistent criteria for recording attendance at on-site activities and extracurricular events.

c. Establish a Comprehensive Communication Strategy:

• Evaluate the effectiveness of communication channels used to inform students about the event or activity including the attendance procedures.

• Assess the previous communication methods employed to develop strategies for effective communication.

Conclusion:

By putting the recommendations into practice, attendance procedures during school events and activities will be much improved. Efficiency and accuracy will be enhanced with the implementation of a digital attendance management system, standardized attendance regulations, and thorough training and support for staff members.

Proposal Report

Proposal for Inclusive Membership in The Assumption College English Club Society(TACES)

Abstract

This proposal advocates for the expansion of membership in the Assumption College English Club Society to promote inclusivity among all college departments, regardless of their fields of study. The goal is to develop an inviting place where students from different academic fields can collaborate and take part in literary and language-focused activities. Our club's inclusiveness initiative strives to foster a community where students from many backgrounds may join to advance and hone their English language abilities.

In today's interconnected world, English language proficiency has emerged as a crucial skill for all college students, regardless of their academic fields. English proficiency provides them with a world of opportunities, both academically and professionally. The Assumption College English Club Society has developed an inclusive membership model in response to this demand, giving all students the opportunity to improve their English language skills.

The benefits of language proficiency extend beyond academic achievement and into the realm of potential future employment. Many employers seek candidates with strong English language skills, as it enhances their effectiveness in a globalized workforce. By engaging with club's activities, students can increase their confidence in their communication skills, increasing their chances of succeeding in networking events, interviews, and presentations.

Proposed Strategies for Inclusivity

1.    Outreach and Promotion: To make sure that all college students are aware of the English Club Society's inclusive membership policy, we will begin a thorough promotional effort. In order to reach students from different backgrounds, it will be helpful to use a variety of channels, including social media, college bulletins, departmental announcements, and campus-wide posters.

2.    Customized Activities: We shall arrange our events in accordance with the preferences and interests of our different memberships. This will involve joint collaborations with other clubs or departments as well as literary discussions, workshops, which include public speaking workshops, creative writing competitions, and other activities to develop essential skills for personal and professional growth.

3.    Benefits of Membership: To encourage membership, we will provide members with unique access to useful resources, including writing support, networking events, and chances to publish or perform their work.

In embracing this proposal, we envision a more inclusive, supportive, and interconnected club community where all members contribute their unique strengths to the collective growth. We invite the college's support and active participation in realizing this vision, as we work together to create an English Club Society that thrives on diversity, collaboration, and the love for language and literature.

As we move forward with this proposal, we remain committed to nurturing a space where all students can find inspiration, broaden their perspectives, and develop lifelong friendships. With unwavering dedication and passion, we embark on a journey to make the Assumption College English Club Society a shining example of unity through diversity.
